I’m Barbara & all of my pottery is both ‘everyday’ functional & decorative, depicting quirky little birds, rams or heart and flower details on a spotty background of a delicious, soft ‘denimy’ blue. Everything has been entirely made by hand, by me, in my tiny garden workshop.

My pots are hand thrown from red earthenware (terracotta)clay, then coloured slips are sponged or painted on, they are then biscuit fired to 1000 degrees C. A high temperature tin glaze is then applied, they are then fired again to 1140 degrees C. making them extremely durable & suitable for everyday use.

As with all individually made items, each piece will vary slightly, giving them a unique character. My ‘creatures’ are hand modelled, not made from a mould, with each bird & ram comprising of 9 separate parts.
All of my work is at home in traditional, country or contemporary settings, is made to be used everyday and is all food safe.
